Becca Truly Stuart’s Sweet Surprises
This is a short excerpt of a session between Becca and myself where she talks about how the Presence of Presents is different to the norm of commercialisation applied to so many celebrations and opportunities to do what you love.
One of Becca’s videos capturing the nature of flow and presence and beauty and love.
Where Did the Idea Come From?
Gentle Surprises. The idea started when Becca worked as an OT (Occupational Therapist) with clients who happened to have dementia. She realised that particular objects, textures and activities sparked something in her clients that enabled their families to interact in a more playfully intimate and less isolating way.
How Does It Work?
Being able to do things they did together before the child became the carer, allowed for joyful moments amid the general turmoil of grief and disorientation. With dementia, it seems that everyone involved feels forgotten, everyone involved feels their identity has been stolen from them, and everyone involved relishes any opportunity to connect through play inspired activities that link the now to a remembered past.
Where Can I Get One?
Now Becca makes these unique experiences not just for clients but for everyone!
Since we all love presents, the trick is delighting someone unexpectedly with a box of experiences that they value, something Miss Becca Truly Stuart is soon to launch on her Patreon page where you’ll be able to order a gift box for your loved one or perhaps even for yourself.
